Speak up for 2nd Amendment Rights on July 18 - Republican primary

On July 18 all registered voters in Georgia will have an opportunity to speak up for their 2nd Amendment rights. Your choice will be commitment vs. lip service.

While many voted for Sonny Perdue and even Earl Ehrhart believing that they were strong supporters of the 2nd Amendment, the 2006 Session of the Legislature demonstrated otherwise.

With the opportunity to pass several worthwhile bills they pandered to special interests and used stalling and out right obstruction instead of promoting the issues they publicly claimed to support.

The choice is yours on July 18, be sure and vote.

Citizens For Safe Government Legislative Update:

The following is a legislative update flyer produced by Citizens For Safe Government during the last legislative session. Legislation promoting your Second Amendment rights did not fare well in this Session.

Send a message to Gov. Sonny Perdue – under his direction, his floor leaders are not pro-gun.

Ray McBerry's Platform on the Second Amendment:

Second Amendment:  "I will oppose any effort to infringe upon the right of law-abiding people of Georgia to keep and bear arms and will encourage public awareness of the principle that the best guarantee of liberty is a well-armed populace of good citizens." ( more)

Vote in the July 18th Republican Primary for Ray McBerry!!

You May Lose Your New Self-Defense Rights Even Before They Become Law!

The SB396 Self-Defense Rights Bill passed by the Georgia State Senate on March 2nd by a vote of 40-13. It now goes to the Georgia House for Consideration there. If it passes the House it will go to the Governor to be signed into law. If it becomes law, you will have the strongest self-defense rights of citizens in any state.

But the Georgia House is loaded with anti-gunners and compromisers, and they have killed every pro-gun bill introduced in the House this term. Right now, they’re making plans to gut SB396 or stall it until the clock runs out on the session.

Most of the pro-gun bills died in the House Rules Committee run by Rep. Earl Ehrhart (R-Powder Springs). Mr. Ehrhart claims he’s for guns, but that is not what he is demonstrating as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives. You can turn up the heat on him by mailing a postcard in support of gun owners.

The Republican bosses are selling out your rights while they’re taking money from big-shot lobbyists. They’ll smarten up if they think they might get thrown out of office.

Major Pro-Gun Bills Killed by Republicans in Georgia House this Year:

HB193 repealing anti-gun zones for pistol license holders in restaurants. Died in Committee..

HB799 repealing anti-gun zones for pistol license holders and motor vehicles in state parks. Blocked by Rep. Bob Lane (R-Statesboro) and died in House Game, Fish & Parks Committee.

HB 1001 affirming you’re your right to carry a gun ready for self-defense in your car without a pistol license. Passed House Judiciary (Non-Civil) Committee, but blocked by Rep. Earl Ehrhart (R-Powder Springs) and died in House Rules Committee.

HB1439 repealing gun confiscation from vehicles at roadblocks during hurricane evacuation and other emergencies. Passed House Judiciary (Non-Civil) Committee, but blocked by Rep Earl Ehrhart (R-Powder Springs) and died in House Rules Committee.
