Special Election - House District 8 - Election Results

The Special Election results are listed below. There will be a run off election on November 25 between Kurt Cannon and Charles Jenkins. Since this is a special election, it is non-partisan so candidates do not qualify by Party.

Our recommended candidate, Kurt Cannon received 39% of the votes cast compared to 33% for the second place candidate Charles Jenkins. Kurt Cannon has responded to our poll on issues, both by phone and in person after returning phone call. Charles Jenkins has not returned either of two phone calls.

We found no disagreement on issues with Kurt Cannon and continue our recommendation for the run-off. We urge all supporters in the 8th District to support Kurt Cannon and those outside the district to communicate with friends and family that may live in the district. The district consists of Union, Towns, Rabun Counties and part of White county. If you need to check to see if you live in the district, click here.
