Robert E. Lee Birthday Celebration - January 19 - Georgia State CapitolRobert E. Lee

The Robert E. Lee Birthday Celebration this year will be on January 19, at the Georgia State Capitol, starting at 10:00 AM. This is during the Legislative Session. We will form up as in years past at the parking lot at Turner Field and march to the Capitol.

The Celebration will then move inside of the Capitol for a program presented by the Georgia Division.

This is your opportunity to Honor Robert E. Lee, your ancestors and let the Legislature  know that we still demand a FAIR Vote on Our State Flag.

Mark your calendars now and plan on bringing a car load.

January 19
Arrive at Turner Field by 10:00 AM
March to Capitol at 11:00 AM sharp
Ceremony inside Capitol by Georgia Division, speakers to be announced.

HB15 to give us a FAIR vote has been filed in the Georgia State House. Contact your State Senator and Representative and let them know that you want a FAIR Vote.

The initial announcement from the Georgia Division follows:

Gentlemen:

We have reserved the South Wing Rotunda for our Robert E. Lee Birthday Celebration on Wednesday, January 19th.  We have also reserved the Gold Parking Lot at Turner field.

We plan to meet at the Gold Parking lot of Turner field between 10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. and march to the capitol at 11:00 A.M. sharp.

We will fly our flags on the march and parade around the Capitol.  We will leave them with an honor guard in the foyer in order to comply with Georgia law  (O.C.G.A. 50-16-14).  We will have our flags on display in the program area.

We have a good opportunity to honor R. E. Lee on his birthday and show the politicians that we are still here.

I hope that you will all make plans now and attend this Division event.
