Political Correctness run amok in Bush Administration? There is certainly a strange odor coming from this situation. A Republican President sets up a historic preservation agency which awards a Republican Mayor an award for his city. The Republican Mayor then without public input works out a deal with the Chamber types and the NAACP to desecrate a Historical memorial.Anyone watching the Republican Party in this election knows how the Chamber types have made enormous contributions. Does this mean that they can now bypass the normal and lawful legal process of public input on government actions? Mayor Young has openly admitted that he "conferred" with the Chamber types but did not hold City Commission hearings on this action. Sounds a lot like the State Flag debacle doesn't it? Also sounds a lot like our State wide water restrictions for the benefit of the city of Atlanta doesn't it? Well we have decided to follow the money trail and took a look at the Preserve America Communities Award program. The following letter is an effort to find the proper contact which is very vague at best. After all, this is the government of the people, you should at least know who is buying it! The following letter was sent by mail, fax - (202) 606-8647/8672, and email - achp@achp.gov. Stay tuned for what responses are received.
