AUGUSTA - A legal group representing the protestors takes their case
to the mayor’s office.
Roger McCredie and H. K. Edgerton from the Southern Legal Resource Center went to the Municpal Building Thursday. The two men made the trip from Black Mountain, North Carolina to deliver a letter to Mayor Bob Young. But the mayor was not in his office. McCredie says while it was disappointing, it was worth the effort. “It is short and sweet, a non–confrontational letter. It does let the mayor know the Southern Legal Resource Center has been retained by some folks here in Augusta to look into the entire matter of the removal of the flags.” McCredie says the group is asking the mayor and county commissioners to put the flag back on Riverwalk.
