Augusta Mayor Young's campaign promises broken

Just two years ago, Mayor Bob Young was in a campaign. Look at some of his campaign promises and statements:

• Bob's leadership abilities are respected by the President of the United States, who appointed him to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.

• Bob's leadership abilities are respected by the chairman of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, who appointed him chair of the Preservation Initiatives Committee and to a seat on the Executive Committee.

In 2002 a champion and proponent of Historic Preservation. In 2004 an eliminator of Historic Preservation.

Is he just trying to follow Bush's lead? Bush removed the plaques in Texas so Bob Young is going to remove Confederate Memorials in Augusta?

Or is he just pandering to the NAACP and will sell anything to make a few bucks from a convention even if it is illegal?

Either way, it is nothing to brag about!
