Southern Heritage PAC places newspaper ad in Representative Austin Scott's District

Two years ago Sonny Perdue and now Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson introduced a bill that they claimed was "good" for Georgia. A Georgia Flag FAIR Vote Act - HB380. As the State Legislature was in its final days this bill was amended to remove the second part of the bill, the vote between the current flag and the 1956 State Flag stolen by former governor Roy Barnes.

The Atlanta Chamber publicly bragged that they along with other special interests were responsible for denying the promised opportunity to Let The People of Georgia Vote.

As we all know there is something American about Letting The People Vote. Rigged referendums, such as the one last March are something that you expect to find in third rate banana republics, not here in our country.

Instead of getting a FAIR Vote, we have gotten nothing but banana republic style partisan political hogwash from our elected officials. The Republicans, including Speaker Glenn Richardson and Governor Sonny Perdue have blamed the removal of the People's Vote on the Democrats and the Democrats have claimed the Republicans did it.

Representative Tim Bearden (R-District 68) has introduced HB 15 this year that does nothing but offer to restore the missing vote that was denied the People of Georgia by the unholy influence of the Atlanta Chamber.

Speaker Glenn Richardson and Governor Sonny Perdue publicly supported a FAIR Vote in 2003 and Governor Sonny Perdue made such a vote a major part of his campaign in 2002. Why are they being so silent this year when Representative Tim Bearden introduces a bill to complete what they said was "good" for Georgia?

In a Republican controlled House why is their proposed solution still sitting in Committee????

Based on the recent Mason Dixon Poll, 79% of Georgians want a FAIR Vote. Both Governor Sonny Perdue and Glenn Richardson have publicly stated they agree and introduced legislation to give the People a Vote and blamed the bad ole Democrats of being in cahoots with the Atlanta Chamber and special interests.

If this is true then why are they so silent this year???

Give Republican Austin Scott a call and let him know that you want a FAIR Vote. That you want his committee to pass HB15 out of committee so that the entire House can complete what Speaker Glenn Richardson and Sonny Perdue started. In fact call all members of the committee of which a majority are Republicans:

Your Money At Work ... Newspaper Ad for Rep. Scott

The Georgia Flag FAIR Vote Act - HB15 is sitting for the third week in row in the House Governmental Affairs Committee. So far it is just sitting, as of last Wednesday a committee hearing had not even been scheduled.

The recent Mason Dixon Poll verified that 79% of Georgians want a FAIR Flag Vote!

We encourage our elected officials, especially those on the House Governmental Affairs Committee to listen to the People of Georgia who they take an oath to represent and pass HB15 out of committee so that the entire House can vote on this bill.

It seems that this always comes down to a FAIR Vote. Twice the People of Georgia have been denied a FAIR Vote by secret backroom deals with special interests. It is time to settle this issue and Let The People Vote.

The following ad is just of several that the Southern Heritage PAC is placing in newspapers in the districts of the Governmental Affairs Committee. They need to make a choice, are they going to listen to the 79% of Georgians who want a FAIR Vote or not - and the People of Georgia have a right to know what they do.
