Secret Chamber Man launched campaign for Prez by
Lying???
One of the funniest side shows in Georgia is also
the source of one of the most intriguing debates. Throughout our
history there have been perplexing situations which have become
side shows and at the same time the source of much debate. Today
there is one such event in Georgia - Why Did Sonny Perdue LIE to
The People of Georgia?
Sideshow:
For just over two years - Sonny "LIAR" Perdue -
has traveled around the State saying
"I didn't say what I said!"
Most people just laugh. It has become one of the
biggest jokes in the whole State. Even many of his strongest
supporters just shake their head in disbelief. It is actually fun to bring up
the subject with Party over Principle types. They will rant
and rave for hours and sometimes do not even notice that everybody has
left and they are talking to an empty room. What a joke!
According to sources, at the advice of his previous political guru,
Ralph "Funny Money" Reed the rhetoric has been improved. The new
and improved version of the little fib is:
"You did not hear what you heard!"
This is considered to be a much better version
that fits in better with the proper RINO (Republican In
Name Only) mentality and positions. For example
Ralph "Funny Money" Reed's positions such as:
"I am opposed to gambling except when I support
it!"
OR John Kerry's
"I voted for it before I voted against it!"
Anyway the side show would be hilarious if it was
not associated with things like lying, special interest influence,
corruption and bad government. After all - many Georgians have a
Bible and know that some things like lying, selling influence and
poor government are not what we are commanded to do by our real
Judge.
Debate:
But the debate has been very serious. Literally
thousands of Georgians have discussed their opinions on why Sonny
LIED to the people and traded a tobacco tax for the promised Vote
on Our State Flag. As one who has talked to a few thousand
of my fellow citizens there are many theories. Some of the most prominent ones
are:
-
He sold out to the Atlanta Chamber due to their
multi-million dollars in contributions to campaign accounts.
-
That he was a Democrat so long that lying and
secret deals became a habit.
-
That he is Truth challenged in PC talk as
evidenced by other cases where he had trouble telling the Truth;
his new son-in-law, the helicopter, etc.
And now Bill Shipp has put forth a new theory on
why Sonny LIED to the people. That it was part of a strategy to
gain national attention so that he can run for President! At first
we laughed, but then some things began to fall in place:
-
George Bush did make a visit and the Flag issue
was discussed, so we have been told by someone who over heard part
of their comments before and after their meeting.
-
George Bush did promote the Republican Mayor of
Augusta and give him a Presidential Preservation Award for
illegally removing Flags in Augusta.
-
Suddenly Ralph "Funny Money" Reed is running for
Lt. Governor. Lets see, if he gets elected and Sonny LIAR Perdue
goes to Washington, he can become governor. Then in eight years
can be in a good position to run for President himself.
-
As reported in the Dukes of Heritage vs. the
Dorks of Hotlanta, Sonny suddenly has "More Than Georgia on His
Mind ," click
here.
Well it does make for an interesting debate. An
extract of Bill Shipp's article is included below for your
consideration.
Conclusion:
This subject does make for an interesting debate.
We believe that open debate is a good thing, unlike some others we
believe that open government is better than secret government. So
to promote open debate on "Why Sonny LIED to the people of
Georgia" we are taking three actions:
Online Poll:
We decided to setup an online poll to get our
readers' and supporters' opinion on the subject. After all - in
the interests of open government, while it still exists in
Georgia, surely our governor is interested in learning why he LIED
to the people and does not believe in Letting The People Vote.
There is just something American about Letting the People Vote.
The Poll follows:
Why Did Sonny Lie about State Flag | | | | | | There has been much debate about why Sonny Perdue LIED to the People about Letting them Vote on the State Flag. The Bill Ship Extract follows:
Shipp: Gov. Perdue's actions show
he may be aiming for a national role
Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue is one of the few
big-time Republican politicians to emerge from the Katrina
catastrophe with a positive national image.
Perdue's public call for anti-price-gouging regulations
and his executive order to stop collecting state taxes
from gas stations earned him several minutes of smile time
on cable TV. In sharp contrast to some of his GOP peers,
Perdue appeared to act quickly and decisively in dealing
with a crisis.
Though many of his Georgia critics contend his actions
had no appreciable effect on gas prices, the national
media gave our governor credit for good works. Such
attention might have been enough to turn him into a
national player and to set conservative minds to thinking.
At the moment, the religious right of the national
Republican Party appears to have no viable presidential
candidate. Their former great hope, Senate Majority Leader
Bill Frist, betrayed his religious backers by endorsing
federal support for stem-cell research.
Perdue's appearance on the national scene is
reminiscent of the startling takeoffs of two former
Southern governors, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Both
were dismissed early as fringe candidates. However, smart
handlers and good luck sent them to the White House.
The current Georgia governor might have been just
waiting for the right time to begin his climb. He has
surrounded himself with figures who have national
experience and exposure. His communications director, Dan
McLagan, has participated in two presidential campaigns -
John McCain's in 2000 and Lamar Alexander's in 1996.
McLagan also worked on Oliver North's 1994 U.S. Senate bid
in Virginia. Moreover, McLagan is a veteran of political
combat against Democratic presidential front-runner
Hillary Clinton. McLagan worked for her New York opponent
in the 2000 Senate campaign.
Perdue's first chief of staff, Eric Tanenblatt, was a
major fund-raiser for President Bush. While serving as
Perdue's chief of staff, Tanenblatt earned the title of
"Ranger" in the Bush campaign, meaning he raised at least
$100,000 for the president's re-election effort.
The Peach State governor is chummy with national GOP
fat-cat Mercer Reynolds III of Ohio. Reynolds is one of
the owners of the tony Reynolds Plantation resort in
Georgia, which Perdue frequents. More important, Reynolds
was the fund-raising chairman for Bush's 2004 re-election
campaign.
One issue that might have haunted the governor in a
national campaign, especially as a VP choice, is his 2002
campaign promise to hold a referendum on the 1956 state
flag with its Confederate battle emblem. Some have
suggested the governor's sidestepping of the issue was
designed to propel him to the national stage.
Perdue and his staff already have taken on Washington
airs. The governor's internal memos refer to him as GOG
(governor of Georgia) and to his wife as FLOG (first lady
of Georgia). Such grand abbreviations are patterned after
White House jargon that refers to the president of the
United States as POTUS and the first lady as FLOTUS.
