Agenda - SB12 Prohibit tax paid outsourcing
One example is:
Georgia's Department of Human Resources pays Citicorp $8
million a year to manage phone inquiries from the state's
438,000 food stamp recipients. Citicorp
outsources the work to an Indian call center that handles
roughly 1.7 million calls annually from Georgians.

This bill was stuck in the Senate State and Local Government
Operations committee during this years session. Many Republicans
seem to support outsourcing, due to pressure from the Chamber. So
unless we can generate visible support this bill will not see the
light of day, a victim of death in committee. We encourage you to
contact your Senator and encourage them strongly to support this
bill.
